At the annual NIHSDA Board of Directors meeting, held October 17-19, 2008, two new officers were seated. Danny Wells, Head Start Director, Chickasaw Nation, Ada, OK, was moved from President Elect into the Presidency. Ann Belleau, Head Start Director, Inter-Tribal Council of Michigan, Sault Ste. Marie, MI, moved into the Immediate Past President position. Gil Gonzales, Head Start Director, Washoe Tribe of Nevada and California, Gardnerville, NV, was elected Treasurer.

Danny and Gil will serve for 2 years each in their new positions. Ann will serve one year as the Immediate Past President. Next year a new President Elect will be seated. Many thanks are extended to Joyce McClellan, Head Start Director, Grand Traverse Band of Ottawa-Chippewa Indians, Peshawbestown, MI, for her dedicated service as the NIHSDA Treasurer the past two years.
